Romantic Wimbrough Wedding: Shelby + Rick

Classic, elegant, romantic, stunning... only a handful of words that describe this wedding. In our initial meeting, Shelby said she wanted a sleek and traditional wedding that exudes romance. Classic black, white and red colors with simple yet perfectly placed roses and flowers were the essentials to  this wedding.  When Shelby told me her plans, I was instantly in love with her wedding concepts and would be of the day.

Then the day arrived and it was more, more than I could have imagined. Walking into the venue, I was in awe. The black tie butlers opening the door and holding champagne in crystal flutes on a silver plater. Gorgeous chandeliers and silver shimmering linens adorned with white roses tucked perfectly into rounded glass vases lined the foyer of the mansion. Shelby & Rick definitely surpassed the James Bond theme Rick was going for.  He was dapper in his suit, hair smoothed to the side neatly. She was radiant in her fitted capped sleeve gown, lush curls cascading down her open back, perfectly complimenting her neckline adorned with pearls. It was picture perfect.

Their picture perfect love story started in college. Shelby was attending Salisbury University and studying Occupational Therapy until a mutual friend (Rick's best man) introduced her to Rick, and their focus quickly went to studying each other from a far. Until one night, at a party and both Rick and Shelby attended. She was cold and Rick took advantage of the situation. Wrapping his coat around her shoulders and gently warming her, the spark ignited. Rick and Shelby dated for the next 6.5 years, finishing college, moving in together and hiking with each other on the weekends. It was there on the end of their hike at the King and Queen's Seat on day, that Rick dropped to one knee on the boulder of the seat. On one knee, with the skyline of mountain, fall foliage and gorgeous sky, Rick asked Shelby to be his wife. She obviously said Yes! Now they are married and are starting their new wonderful life together.

Rick and Shelby, you two are an amazing couple. Being around you two is always a pleasure and I am so incredibly thankful for being a part of your love story! I am looking forward to all the joys and blessings life will bring you in your marriage, including going back to the King and Queens Seat for more amazing photos. God Bless you both with a lifetime of love and happiness!! Congratulations!! xo.

... And Baby makes 3!

Ahhh! Babies! Who doesn't love the anticipation of the arrival of a baby?! Buying little clothes, setting up the nursery and watching the adorable baby grow... some of the best experiences ever. Zak and Tiffany are waiting patiently for Baby Johns to make his/her debut very, very soon. Will it be little fire boots or ballet flats? Either way, Baby Johns looks adorable in Tiffany's bump and is giving his/her mommy an amazing glow! It was such an honor capturing Tiffany & Zak's anticipation of their sweet baby. I cannot wait to hear if Baby Johns will be Team Pink or Blue. Either way, Baby Johns will be so incredibly loved! Here's just a few of this amazing family of 3 to be!

God gave me you.

Let me preface this by saying that I do not get personal on here very often. In fact, I think this may be the first. But then again, sometimes you just have to share with the world all the gifts God gave you.

It started out as a trial shoot to test out the new gear and get familiar with using it in preparations for the upcoming schedule I have this wedding season. I figured I would get a few pictures of the girls to document their adorable ages and cuteness while they still let me, and a few with their daddy to put up on his locker at work (cliche, I know). But what I least expected to happen was the A-ha moment that happened. There I was camera in hand, staring at three amazing people. Three individual and remarkable beings, just standing there in my presence exuding this love for not only one another, but for me. It hit me. God gave me three of the best gifts I could ever ask for. I watched in awe as my husband hugged his girls and they grabbed onto his fingers, not clinging for dear life (as they do when it's time for bed and they desperately don't want to listen to mommy) but with a gentle compassion that shows trust and comfort. They donned subtle smiles that were so pure and genuine, showing they were happy to be there in the moment with each other. My heart must have skipped a few beats, because I was in love what was unfolding in front of me.

It's a little funny how God just gives you little things, everyday. This day it was realizing how thankful I am for my husband and our girls, and my passion for capturing all of life's blessings.
 Have a great day everyone!
